Do you know as a believer in Christ, divine protection is your right?

Several years ago I traveled to my hometown, I was with two young men and they were having a discussion. One of them said to the other "next year December I'm going to come home for the Christmas celebration with my own car and it's going to be a Hummer Jeep."
I was impressed by that statement and had expected the other person to be as well.

Then He (the second person) said something shocking. He said "well, my brother your plans are good but don't try it. If you must buy it don't bring it home. But if you'll bring it home make sure you buy a Coffin, your size, put in the boot and come home with it."

Hearing this, the first guy just like myself was shocked and asked why he would do such a thing. The second dude then said "because if you try it here in this Village you'll not go back alive, there are bad people all over this place and they hate to see people progress, they will not stop until they will kill you with witchcraft, charms, juju etc". These two young men were even professing Christians.

In Africa, especially here in Nigeria it's not uncommon to still find real Christians who don't know their rights to divine protections in Christ. They still live in fear of the devil and his demons, in fear of what may befall them in the night or day. They're genuinely born again, but they still believe that somebody (an evil man) somewhere is busy planning their downfall, making incantations and going to evil meetings to report them in a coven.

They believe they're constantly being monitored in an evil mirror to make sure they'll never be successful in life. Let any small creature like cockroach crawl by the side of their wardrobe and you'll hear "Holy Ghost Fire!!!" and "Blood of Jesus" raining from their lips.

The so called preachers who hardly open their Bibles and read have not helped matters as they use the pulpits to spread fear, false visions (hallucinations), false teachings and lies, promoting the devil to be omnipotent (all-powerful), omnipresent (everywhere at every time) and omniscient (all-knowing). This is not true about the devil.

Genesis 3 proves to us that the devil does not know everything. As a matter of fact, Eve had to tell him which of the trees God said they should never eat of it's fruits, he never knew which one it was.

Genesis 3:1-3

1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

The new testament goes further to debunk this lie that the devil is all-knowing.

1 Corinthians 2:7-8
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

The devil and his demons can only know what you let them.  He's not all-powerful. To be clearer, he doesn't have a single power over the believer. Jesus stripped him of everything through His death, burial and resurrection.

Colossians 2:15

15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Hebrews 2:14-15
14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil
15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

He's not omnipresent too. He can only be one place at a time.

1 Peter 5:8

8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

If he is omnipresent, he wouldn't need to walk about from place to place, he would just be everywhere seeing everyone, every time. But thanks be to God, he's not. Only God is.

Now before Jesus would even come and die, God through the mouth of Isaiah prophesied and said:

Isaiah 54:14-17

14 In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.
15 Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.
16 Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.
17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

If you read this prophecy from verse 1, you'll come to understand that the woman to whom this prophecy was given to is a symbol of the New Covenant. Apostle Paul in his writings in Galatians 4:22-31 told us this woman that was initially barren was an allegory of the New Covenant in Christ. He concluded that chapter by saying we are the children of that woman, that is, the partakers of that New Covenant in Christ.

From the prophecy of Isaiah, you will discover that the partakers of that New Covenant are protected as a result of something that was given to them by God, of which they are established in. That thing given to them is called RIGHTEOUSNESS. The later part of verse 17 clearly stated that this righteousness is not of (from) themselves but of (from) God to them.

This righteousness is their defence from evil, it's like the blood mark in Exodus that preserved the people of God from destruction. It is not dependent on the actions of the recipient, it is freely and lavishly given by God. This is our right to be protected from the arrows that flies by day and by night. It is our covenant right to be shaded from evil. It is freely given to us, but it is not cheap. It cost Jesus His life. It is free but not cheap.

2 Corinthians 5:21

21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

He (Jesus) did this for you to enjoy every moment of your life. So tomorrow when someone comes and say to you "there's a demonic attack or gang up against you" point to the Scriptures and say "I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, I am divinely protected" NO SHAKING.

I hope this blesses you.
Glory to God!
