In many portions of the scriptures, Jesus is referred to as the "firstborn" or "firstbegotten".

In Romans 8:29, the apostle Paul called him the "firstborn among many brethren"

Rom 8:29  For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

In Colossians 1:15, he was called "the firstborn of every creature"

Col 1:15  Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature

In verse 18 of the same Colossians Chapter 1, he was called "the firstborn from the dead"

Col 1:18  And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

In Hebrews 1:6, he is called "the firstbegotten"

Heb 1:6  And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

And finally, in Revelations 1:5, he is "the first begotten from the dead."

Rev 1:5  And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood

Pay a closer attention here…

In all these verses of scriptures we just saw, only one Greek word is used to describe him. And that is the word "prōtotokos".

Now originally, the word "prōtotokos" in Greek actually means "the first to be born in a family" or "the chief or highest in authority in a family." But when Paul used that word in the scriptures here, he wasn't just referring to Jesus being the prōtotokos of the believers as in the first or highest in authority alone.

If you study those verses of scriptures where prōtotokos is used in context, you will find out that Paul used that word to refer to Jesus as the prototype of the Christians today. By prototype here I mean that Jesus is the sample of what the believer today is like. Who he is, what he has and his supernatural abilities.

Now in the natural world we live in today, when entrepreneurs or manufacturers want to make a product of high quality e.g cars, the first thing they do is to create a prototype of that car.

This prototype is then presented to the public, showing them what the upcoming cars are like, their beauty and design, engine power, speed, fuel consumption rate and many other features.

By looking at that prototype, the general public can know what the future cars are like and what to expect when they finally arrive.

In the same way, in the resurrection of Jesus (not his incarnation which is his earthly birth by Mary), God raised Him as the full prototype of the believers who would come after him. He was raised without any sin in Him, immortal, unlimited in power, full of the Spirit, wisdom and glory!

Everything he is and has as the Son of God begotten from the dead, the believer today is and has today as a son of God in Him also.

1Jn 3:1  Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
1Jn 3:2  Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

So filled with this revelation, that John the Evangelist declared...

1Jn 4:17  Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

As He IS, so are we (Believers, Christians) in this very world. As He IS beloved! As Jesus is!

So today, you are not just one sin-ridden, Godforsaken and demonized fellow. No, you are not! You are a Child of God, His own very Son. Exactly as Jesus is.

So when sickness, sin, demons and life situations come to toss you around, take a look at your prototype, Christ, and say to yourself, "all that Jesus is, I am. All that He has, I have."

From there, you take your authority in Him and put that little mouse called the devil right where he belongs- outside of your heart, home and affairs.

You are as righteous as Jesus is, as powerful as he is. You have his glory, wisdom and everything because He is your prototype. Your "prōtotokos".

As He is, so are you in this very world.

I hope this blesses you!

Lift your hands to the father and give Him praise!!!
