Early 2017, I and Pst Paulrodney Okonkwo just finished witnessing to a lady during one of our evangelism activities when I asked her “Do you understand all we’ve been saying ma concerning Heaven and God’s grace?”

“Yes, very very well” She replied.

“Do you have any question you’d like to ask?” I asked again.

“No” she responded, “but I have a prayer request”

“That’s good, go on. What is it about?” I said, encouraging her to feel free.

“Please PRAY FOR ME SO THAT I WILL NOT MISS HEAVEN, PRAY SO THAT GOD WILL GIVE ME THE GRACE NOT TO MISS HEAVEN” She sincerely pleaded.

I was dazed. I thought all this while that we were explaining all it takes to become a citizen of Heaven she was following. And we were already standing up to leave.

We had to sit down again and start afresh to explain and explain for some period of time, before she could grasp what we were trying to say.

What’s my point in telling this story?

I come across believers and ministers on daily basis, listen to their comments and read their posts. One thing I always find common among them is this PRAYER NOT TO MISS HEAVEN.

You find ministers saying things like, “I pray for you today, you shall not miss heaven in Jesus name” or “may God give you the grace not to miss heaven in Jesus name” and the members will shout “Amen” with all their strength.

This is an error. YOU CANNOT PRAY YOUR WAY INTO HEAVEN NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU PRAY.

Let me say it again, HEAVEN IS NOT BY PRAYER. The Bible is very very clear on this.

Becoming a citizen of Heaven, that is, one who has been delivered from Hell forever, is simply BY BELIEVING THAT JESUS DIED FOR YOUR SINS AND ROSE AGAIN FOR YOUR JUSTIFICATION.

Joh 3:14  And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

Joh 3:15  That whosoever BELIEVETH in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

Joh 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever BELIEVETH in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Joh 3:17  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Joh 3:18  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Pay close attention to verse 18 of that chapter, the only reason men will be condemned or go to Hell is clearly explained there - BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOT BELIEVED IN JESUS, NOTHING MORE NOTHING LESS.

God has already poured out His grace for the salvation of the whole world. He's not about to do it again!

Tit 2:11  For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men.

But a man has to consciously put his faith in this grace, that is, believe in Jesus, to appropriate what God has already DONE in Christ.

Rom 4:16  Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all.

It is by Faith in Grace (believing what God did through Christ).

Rom 5:2  By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Again!

Eph 2:8  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

All over the scriptures!

You take too much upon yourself when you think that it is your prayer that will save you or anyone else from Hell. Quit wishing one another “Heaven at last”. You can’t go to Heaven by mere wishes. Simply BELIEVE in HIM as your SAVIOUR!!!

When you depend on what YOU (on your own as a person) CAN DO to enter Heaven, it doesn’t just become hard. It becomes impossible.

Let me say it again. Based on our efforts, HEAVEN IS NOT HARD, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE!!!

But this impossibility is with man, not with God. For with God, all things concerning the total salvation of man are POSSIBLE.

Mat 19:25  When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?

Mat 19:26  But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

I hope this blesses you. Have a Jesus filled day!
